Warranty FAQs

What is a Bumper-to-Bumper warranty?

Often called a basic warranty or new-vehicle warranty, a bumper-to-bumper policy covers components like air conditioning, audio systems, vehicle sensors, fuel systems and major electrical components. Most policies exclude regular maintenance like fluid top offs and oil changes, but a few brands have separate free-maintenance provisions, and those that do offer them is slowly rising. Bumper-to-bumper warranties typically expire faster than powertrain warranties.

What is a Powertrain warranty?

Don’t be misled a 10-year or 100,000-mile powertrain warranty doesn’t promise a decade of free repairs for your car. It typically covers just the engine and transmission, along with any other moving parts that lead to the wheels, like the driveshaft and constant velocity joints. Some automakers also bundle seat belts and airbags into their powertrain warranties. With a few exceptions, powertrain warranties don’t cover regular maintenance like engine tuneups and tire rotations.

What is included in Roadside Assistance?

Some automakers include roadside assistance with their bumper-to-bumper or powertrain warranties, while others have separate policies. These programs cover anything from flat-tire changes and locksmith services to jump-starts and towing. Few reimburse incidental costs like motel rooms (if you have to wait for repairs).

What other services could be included in a warranty?

Some automakers include free scheduled maintenance for items such as oil changes, air filters and tire rotations. Some include consumables including brake pads and windshield wipers; others do not. They are typically for the first couple of years of ownership of a new car.

What does CPO mean?

A certified pre-owned or CPO car has been inspected to meet minimum quality standards and typically includes some type of warranty. While dealers and third parties certify cars, the gold standard is an automaker-certified vehicle that provides a factory-backed warranty, often extending the original coverage. Vehicles must be in excellent condition and have low miles and wear to be certified, which is why off-lease vehicles feed many CPO programs.

Ford Mustang IV Coupe 3.8 V6

Red Hot And Fun In The Sun — I like everything about this car, its looks great, handles great, fun to drive, Whats not to like its American Muscle Car. Have been every where in this car and has NEVER let me down! almost time to pass it on to my son for him to get some good memory’s with it. Life is Good!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Its a Mustang!

Cons: nothing at all.

Daily Driver — good car other then basic maintenance the only problem i had was one of the tranny oil lines connected to the rad burst off one day and drained all the atf onto the road and the rotors needed replacing nothing major. 45$ worth of gas gets me 250-300km

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: fun zippy car that is not bad on gas and the paint is still in such good condition people think it is only a couple years old.

Cons: very poor grip for winter driving. could use different gearing.

Its A Very Good Car — good car just not meant for more than 4 people to sit in it because there is very little room in the backseat but besides that it is very powerful and alot of fun to drive it will leave a nice black mark for just being stock

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: powerful for a v6 i love the bucket style seats in the front

Cons: the backseat

A True High Performance Muscle Car — All around awesome car. Front view looks predatory and the factory headers/dual exhaust growl matches the appearance. The little vents on the hood and sides make it look like the great white shark of cars. Excellent engine coupled with great suspension design and superior braking capabilities round out a truly sick ride.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Excellent speed capabilities, mod options galore, handles awesome on corners and at high speeds. ’95 was the last year for the original 5.0 — Historic value some day. I love the front clip on this ride, it looks down right mean.

Cons: The tail lights suck. The power mirrors vibrate making it hard to see. Location of wind shield washer reservoir not cool. Really hard to keep tread on the tires. 😉

Was A Awesome Drive Loved Every Minute — It was a good Mustang GT for someone in High School could have. Nothing can be more fun then a man and a real car. Ford was the only true car company when it came to sports cars. They did not rely on v6 engines and front wheel drive to sell cars, that’s for people who do not know how to drive. They did not get ride of there top sports car in 2002. Last thing is it was built in America.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: I miss and don’t at the same time

Cons: It was keyed on the drivers side when I bought

Wondeful — I am currently driving this car and i have to say its my favourite so far.. i grew up with Fords and I just always loved Mustangs theyre my favourite car and ive never been so happy to own one

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: its sharp looking

Cons: it sucks on gas

Nice Looks, Plenty Of Power — Was a good car to start with then the engine and transmission went out so I replaced them with the v8 out of my old mach 1. after that it was great until the transmission went out and then i sold it.. still sad about that. was a fun car, looked great, never had to do anything other than change engine and tranny but all in all i loved the car

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Good car but I would go with a v8.

Cons: the original motor and tranny sucked

Love It And I’d Miss It If I Ever Sold It. — The 3.8v6 is far underpowered for its size, but does provide excellent low end torque for fun in the corners. the back seat is not efficient for anyone over the height of 4 feet, and the front seats slide back far enough for even a tall person like me to drive comfortably. the trunk is roomy but the opening is small, so fitting in large cargo can be difficult. i experienced about 30 mpg freeway and 24 city personally, when i was driving conservatively. on a rough drive it averages 20, still decent fuel economy. The car is wonderful for long trips alone or with another person — the front seats really show their comfort here, and the gas mileage is great for long drives.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Great on gas, fun, and good looking.

Cons: small back seats, underpowered.

1995 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Specs

The fourth generation of Ford’s iconic, segment-defining pony car was an interesting combination of the old and the new. When it debuted for the 1994 model year, its dramatic, sporty styling was a substantial departure from that of the third-generation version it replaced. The car’s design, while not particularly «retro,» did recalled the original, 1960s model in many of its details, such as its side scoops and «strip» taillights.

Dimensions

Despite its dramatically different appearance, though, the fourth-generation Mustang was built on the same front-engine, rear-wheel-drive «Fox» platform as the outgoing model. This led some to conclude that the fourth-generation car looked more like an all-new model than it really was. The 1995 Mustang GT was essentially identical to the 1994 version. The 1995 Mustang GT could be had as a coupe or a convertible. The coupe measured 181.5 inches in length, 71.8 inches in width and 53.4 inches in height, and had a 101.3-inch wheelbase. Other than a marginally lower height of 53.3 inches, the convertible shared the coupe’s external dimensions. In the coupe, the driver and front passenger got 38.2 inches of headroom, 53.5 inches of shoulder room, 52.3 inches of hip room and 42.5 inches of legroom. Rear-seat passengers got 35.8 inches of headroom, 52 inches of shoulder room, 48.7 inches of hip room and 30.2 inches of legroom. The Mustang convertible offered the driver and front passenger 38 inches of headroom, 53.5 inches of shoulder room, 52.3 inches of hip room and 43.5 inches of legroom. Backseat riders got 35.3 inches of headroom, 41.2 inches of shoulder room, 41 inches of hip room and 30.2 inches of legroom. The coupe’s trunk could hold 10.9 cubic feet worth of cargo, while the convertible’s had space for 8.5 cubic feet.

Drivetrain & Chassis

The Mustang GT was powered by Ford’s venerable 5.0-liter «Windsor» V-8. This was the same engine that had powered so many third-generation Mustangs, as well as numerous other Ford vehicles. The time-tested, overhead-valve engine was good for 215 horsepower at 4,200 rpm and 285 foot-pounds of torque at 3,400 rpm. Power was sent to the pavement via either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. A limited-slip differential came standard. The Mustang featured a MacPherson strut front suspension and a live axle out back.

Performance

While the Mustang GT was a decently quick vehicle for its era, it received substantial criticism for its lack of oomph relative to other V-8 pony cars. Compared to its chief rival — the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 — it lagged noticeably in performance. The Ford could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds and complete a quarter-mile run in 15.2 seconds at 89.6 mph. Not bad, but significantly slower than the Camaro. The 1995 Camaro Z28 boasted a 0 to 60 mph best of 5.7 seconds and could blast through the quarter mile in 14.2 seconds at 98.8 mph. When it came to handling and braking, the Mustang GT remained a competent — though not class-leading — performer. On a 200-foot skid pad, it achieved 0.87G of lateral acceleration and it could navigate a 600-foot slalom course at a respectable 66.3 mph. A 60-to-0 mph emergency stop took the Mustang GT 131 feet to complete.

Dual front airbags came standard. ABS was available as an option. Traction control, though, was not offered.

Consumer Data

With the automatic transmission, the Mustang GT received an EPA fuel economy rating of 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. With the manual transmission, highway mileage increased by 1 mpg, though city mileage remained the same. Back in 1995, the Mustang GT coupe started at $18,105 and the convertible had a base price of $22,795. As of 2014, Kelley Blue Book states that a coupe in well-maintained condition is worth approximately $1,840. A convertible model should go for around $2,540.

Should I lease or buy a 1995 Ford Mustang?

Is it better to lease or buy a car? Ask most people and they’ll probably tell you that car buying is the way to go. And from a financial perspective, it’s true, provided you’re willing to make higher monthly payments, pay off the loan in full and keep the car for a few years. Leasing, on the other hand, can be a less expensive option on a month-to-month basis. It’s also good if you’re someone who likes to drive a new car every three years or so.

1995 Ford Mustang

Before the Ford Mustang entered the scene in ’64, performance-car enthusiasts were limited to one of two types of vehicles: sports cars or big muscle cars. But the ’64 Mustang was a fresh, new hybrid of sports and muscle car that offered relatively surefooted handling and straight-line speed. And what’s more, it came with a reasonable sticker price.

The Mustang and the Mustang-inspired cars from other manufacturers that followed became known as pony cars; over the years, the Mustang’s leadership in the group was rarely threatened. Today, however, when the class is reduced to three players – the Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, and Pontiac Firebird – Ford’s innovator faces its most serious challenge.

All three contenders are well-built, offer the latest in safety features and are backed by solid dealer networks. As a result, the principal weapon in this pony-car battle is horsepower. Although the Mustang offers 215 hp in its high-end GT model, the General Motors cars up the ante considerably with a healthy 275 hp apiece in their high-performance versions, the Camaro Z28 and Firebird Trans Am. (Later this year, Ford will offer a special limited-edition Mustang Cobra that will close the power gap. However, buyers will have to pay a premium for the Cobra and there won’t be many of them thanks to the limited production.)

In addition to the engine, the Mustang GT’s 5-speed manual transmission is surpassed by the GM cars’ 6-speed gearboxes.

But power isn’t everything, and there’s a lot to like in Ford’s fancy horse, judging by the maxed-out $26,765 GT convertible we tested. For many motorists, the Mustang’s overall attraction and sense of history could very well outweigh the performance benefits conferred by Camaro or Firebird ownership.

Walkaround

Much has been made – by Ford, in particular – of the resemblance between the Mustang of 31 years ago and the 1995 model with its side scoops, segmented taillights and trademark galloping-horse emblem in the air inlet. For pony-car aficionados, these reminders probably do evoke fond memories of the original, but the average driver might miss the subtle connection.

More obvious is the fact that the Mustang is a full foot shorter than the Camaro or Firebird. As a result, it’s easier to drive through traffic; the relatively short overhangs, front and rear, make parking easier as well.

The Mustang is offered in two body styles (coupe and convertible) and two trim levels (base and GT). The convertibles – which have power-operated tops – are assembled on the same production lines as the hardtops, and are thus free from the structural weaknesses of previous aftermarket-built Mustang convertibles. The convertible does a good job of isolating occupants from noise and weather; the coupe, of course, does even better.

From the outside, the Mustang base model (powered by a V6 engine) and the more powerful V8 GT look pretty much alike. The most noticeable differences: The GT has a wing on the trunk lid – which interferes slightly with the driver’s view through the back window – and rides on larger wheels (standard 16 in. or optional 17 in. rims). For aesthetic reasons, it’s a shame Ford doesn’t offer even larger wheels. Something about the mustang’s shape is such that even the 17-in. wheels don’t look big enough.

Not everyone is satisfied with the way the mustang’s basic design has been detailed; a number of critics have found fault with the treatment of the rear lamps and license plate housing, and the fussy lines sculpted into the body sides. However, in wrapping new sheet metal around the previous generation mustang’s dimensions, Ford stylists faced a real challenge. Their development budget was far smaller than GM’s Camaro/Firebird resources, and they’ve done a remarkable job under those conditions.

Interior Features

The Mustang cabin offers a fine blend of style and comfort. In the basic version, the seats are comfortable and provide reasonable side support – and the highline GT seats are even better. There’s plenty of room for the driver and front-seat passenger, and those who are able to perform the contortions necessary to get into the backseat will find enough space available for comfortable short-run travel.

All materials used in the interior are of good quality. Visual appeal centers on the car’s rounded, twin-pod dashboard and center console. The driver-side pod houses full instrumentation – done in ford’s plain, readable graphic style – and the console carries the shift lever and the climate-control system and radio.

Kudos to Ford for providing easy-to-use rotary knobs for climate control and a large pull-knob for the headlights – and demerits for installing unlit window and door-lock switches that left us fumbling around at night.

The Mustang convertible’s top is easy to raise and lower, and is concealed by a flexible plastic boot when stowed. Coupes offer slightly more trunk space because the convertible top eats up more than 2 cu. ft. of room that could otherwise be used for luggage or groceries.

Driving Impressions

Ford expects nearly two-thirds of its’95 Mustang customers to opt for the more powerful GT version – and after the first few minutes of our GT test drive, we knew why.

Around town, the base model’s standard 3.8-liter V6 engine is fine, and it offers decent fuel economy for the cost-conscious driver. However, this smaller powerplant comes up a little short on acceleration and exhibits some high-speed roughness.

The V8 proved to be another story altogether. The Mustang GT scoots along in traditional pony-car style, with plenty of juice for both low- and high-speed acceleration. True, the Camaro Z28 and Firebird Trans Am are a little quicker, but not as much as you might think. And the sound of the Mustang GT engine – the low rumble of the good old American V8 – was music to our ears.

To sweeten the pot, Ford makes anti-lock brakes standard on the GT (optional on the base model), complementing the already competent 4-wheel disc brake system.

Two transmissions are available for use with either engine. A 5-speed manual is standard; it has a slightly stiff linkage, but shifts are positive. A 4-speed automatic is optional and, although it lacks the manual’s sheer macho flavor, it’s equally well-suited to Mustang duty.

The mustang’s best feature may be its chassis. Don’t let the smooth, low-speed ride fool you: The Mustang can romp with the best of ’em. There is some body roll during cornering, but this is well-controlled and doesn’t upset the car’s balance. Steering precision and cornering traction are strong pluses, too. An expert driver will be able to extract plenty of performance from a Mustang; less-skilled pilots can have a lot of good, safe fun.

It must be said that the Ford Mustang sends out mixed messages: It’s expressly tailored to offer style and speed, but we found it slightly lacking in performance compared with its rivals from GM. That’s not to say that the Mustang is unsatisfactory. But overall, the basic package would be more tempting if Ford were to bolt in some additional horsepower – a move that is in the works for the 1996 model year.

We suggest that the base models be passed by; the essence of the American pony car is V8 power, and that’s what brings this car to life. The Mustang gives a lot of satisfaction in GT form, is very well-built and is reasonably priced.

By delivering maximum fun for the buck, the Mustang has once again earned its traditional top spot in the pony-car sales derby.

1995 SVT Mustang Cobra

By 1995, the Ford Special Vehicle Team and its products were an unqualified success, so to further develop the Ford performance brand, all SVT models now wore special SVT exterior badging. This was the final year for the Mustang’s venerable 5.0-liter V-8, long the preferred choice of Ford performance enthusiasts. Coupe versions of the Cobra were offered in Black, Red and White. To enhance the exclusivity of the Cobra Convertible, which was available only in Black, a removable hardtop option was offered. As the one and only year of the convertible hardtop experiment and only 499 of the 1,003 droptops built leaving the factory with the optional hardtop, those cars are considered by some collectors to be among the most desirable SVT Cobras ever made.

Ford Mustang V [awarie i problemy]

Ford Mustang GT

Sprawdź to!

Historia modelu

Pierwsza generacja Mustanga została zaprezentowana w 1964 roku podczas specjalne Światowej Wystawy w Nowym Jorku.

Oni chcą przede wszystkim emocji i adrenaliny.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 KR

Szybka jazda i ruszanie z piskiem opon z pewnością kręci zdecydowaną większość kierowców Mustangów.

Ford Mustang GT

Naszym zdaniem
